Tribe strive to keep the summer alive with another essential release for your cd wallet. ‘Out’ originally surfaced earlier this year on South African label, Katsaitis Music and first caught our ears when Ian Friday dropped..
..it at our Tribe launch party at Dex back in April this year. The track has since become a Tribe anthem, so we sort to find out who these talented producers were and now four months on we are very happy to release it for the world and let others experience what amazing music these guys are serving up! Shana is a band made up of three guys from KZN now based in Gauteng, South Africa. Black Coffee (Soulisitic Music) from Durban who is now a household name over here in Europe, Mnqobi Mdabe (Shota Music and Thandukwazi Demor Sikhosana (Demor Music) make up the group. The guys met at Technikon Natal Durban while studying music and formed this magnificent band back in 1997. A shared passion for music led to an instant understanding, even though they came from widely different backgrounds. The combination has proved to be an excellent one, each musician bringing a special talent to a group. While sharing a love of African sounds, House, Kwaito and R&B, The band fuses traditional melodies, modern house beats with an incredible Zulu chat and have come up with an afro-house monster produced and mixed to great effect by Andy X and DJ Christos. Shana have already enjoyed success recently in Europe with their infamous ‘Intliziyo’ track that Franck Roger remixed and put out on Realtone Records a few years ago. Also, ‘Uyangichomela’ was picked up by Ralf Gum’s GoGo music imprint last year and went onto become a popular track with djs in the house scene. Also featured in the package is a useful instrumental, dub and some beats that you can work really effectively in peak time sets. The track is already a favourite with the likes of Ian Friday, Timmy Regisford and Greg Gauthier so make sure you pick this one up before the summer is out! Tribe celebrates it???s fifth release on the label with a fresh new remix of Circles by Chicago???s man of the moment Abicah Soul. Abicah was so excited on hearing the original and wanted to try something different & the fruits of his labour are amazing! As a producer, Abicah has been in the game for many years and has landed releases on labels such as Objektivity, Jellybean, Symple Sound to name but a few not to mention all the exclusive remixes that he done. His unique deep, techy-edge bouncy signature sound is all over this version of ‘Circles’ and already has had our Tribe crowd in raptures when dropped by resident dj Zepherin Saint at peak moments in his set. The Abicah Soul Remix has already featured as an exclusive on our first Tribe Session 1 vinyl sampler, which was released two weeks ago and has already sold out so this is your first chance to grab the digital version! Nathan Adams & Zepherin Saint – Circles, features newly discovered nineteen year old vocal talent, Nathan Adams and West London producer Zepherin Saint who collaborated in the summer of last year and the pair hit it off immediately with ‘Circles’ becoming the first fruits of their labour. Zepherin and Adams are currently working on an exciting album project due for release sometime in 2010 with the second single ‘Holding On’ due for release in late summer so look out for that one! Adams will also be embarking on a short tour of the US in September taking in dates in NYC, Washington and LA so look out for the man coming to town near you very soon! What those in the know are saying..
