Gardy Girault – The 4th World [Nulu]

Gardy Girault

Nulu Music is proud to release “The 4TH World” by Haitian born producer/DJ Gardy Girault
Gardy’s story began early in his life but it was a trip to NYC in the early 90’s that introduced him to a sound that he fell in love with…House Music!
It wasn’t long before his career as a DJ took off, where he began playing along side respected DJ’s in some of the hottest clubs in Haiti and Miami.  Hosting his popular show on Radio One Haiti and releasing several Internet podcasts, Gardy is a definite contributor in the growth of the House scene in his country.

The January 2010 earthquake in Haiti provoked a clash in his head, boosted his inspiration and there he started to produce a fresh and unique sound using a blend of traditional Haitian beats with soulful house, which in turn is causing heads to turn and definitely bringing an interesting new vibe to the musical world.  So much so that house music legends and Grammy winner Louie Vega along as well as Todd Terry are completing their remixed version for “Lakay”.

“The 4TH World” consists of two incredible tracks, “Lakay” & “Blue Dots”, both will set dance floors ablaze not only for its beautiful sounds and thumping beats but for what these two tracks really mean.  When we asked Gardy to give us a brief description of each song this is what he said…

“Lakay”…”is a joyous cry of the peasantry, celebrating the pride and cultural richness of Haiti.  These are the traditional songs of my country, using a blend of percussion, flute, Haitian rhythm and much joy to bring all the people to dance.”

“Blue Dots”…”is directly related to the deadly earthquake that hit Haiti so violently on January 11th 2010.  At first, in the darkness beneath their “blue tents”, the people of Haiti see a glimmer of hope in the horizon while immersed in their spiritual well being.”

As from our first release NuLu is dedicated in bringing  fresh and authentic world music mixed with hot beats and resonating with electronic sounds, not because its of the moment but because its our true passion.

4Peace – Sleight Of Hand Ep [Cabbie Hat Recordings]

Cabbie Hat follows up it’s highly successful flagship release with a 3 track offering from label boss 4peace. Includes a remix from Hunter Vaughan.

Hot on the heels of Cabbie Hat’s highly successful first release comes the next offering and it’s from none other than the label boss himself, 4PEACE!!! This is the very first solo EP from 4PEACE and he’s got something up his sleeve for everyone! The title track IT’S MAGIC is a bumpin’ ditty that will have you seeing Electric Lights and hearing Orchestras! On the remix is one of 4peace’s good friends and fellow Dallas based producer HUNTER VAUGHAN who is normally known for his fidgety electro productions but pulls a rabbit out of his hat on this one and surprises everyone with a deep rhodes laden gem proving again how much depth and talent this kid has! For the final cut 4peace pulls back the curtain on a funky party jam called BACK N FORTH that would surely have even the great Harry Houdini pop lockin’ if he were still around! Now if only 4peace had enough power to make Tiesto disappear all would be right with the world!

Maya Jane Coles – The Remixes (Incl. Manoo, Shonky, Dyed Soundorom & Franck Roger Mixes) [Real Tone] {promo}

release date: Apr/05/2011

Maya Jane Coles was one of the biggest sensation of 2010 with the EP “What They Say”, released under Real Tones Records.

The 23 years old Anglo-Japanese DJ topped legal download sites’ charts, and this EP put her and the label under the spotlights.

Now is the time for the awaited remixes, especially the track “What They Say” which has appeared to the eyes of the public as highly inspired by 90’s House Music and particularly by Marc Kinchen’s style while in facts, Maya Jane Coles’ influences encompass many different styles, ranging from Hip Hop and Trip-Hop to Dub, and nights out in London’s Drum & Bass/ Jungle underground scene.

To keep the momentum going around this instant classic and to give it a new depth, Real Tone Records has gathered the best from its roadster, which naturally includes Franck Roger, one of its co-founder, his Parisian friends Dyed Soundorom and Shonky from the Freak n’ Chic crew with whom he has recently collaborated, Manoo, one the label’s original member, who was given the remix of “Don’t Tell” – another great track from this EP, and Nicolas Denis who is off to a great start under Real Tone.

Real Tone Records is definitely imposing itself as one of the most prolific label of the moment and is committing to keeping things as such!

Alex Augello – Men’s Message EP [Clean House]

Italian producer Alex Augello returns with his take on a classic – the Men’s Message EP.

Italian producer Alex Augello returns with his take on a classic – the Men’s Message EP. Alex takes the classic, ‘Mr. Sandman’, and weaves it into a dance floor friendly groove.

Mr. Clean takes the reigns on his remix and chops the samples up into his own take on the original, giving it his signature bassline thump and deep hypnotic groove that is sure to work any dancefloor.

Chemars then takes the original and turns it into a bouncy, funk-driven number. Done in an infectious style that’s become his signature sound lately.

French producer Sascal turns the Funk up quite a few notches and works it into a truly Funky House track.

Finally we welcome Mike Jules to the Clean House family with his take on it. Deep and groovin’, the perfect late night track that will work an already sweaty floor into a frenzy.
