Soulbasics – City Lite EP [Grooveland Music]

preview

SoulBasics is back to the Grooveland Camp with the City lite EP, a fantastic jazz house track featuring a great instrumentation and arrangement that comes in two flavors.

SoulBasics is a production team from the UK, formed by the dj Steve Fox & musician Matt Bell, their music is based around jazz and soulful orientated sounds, with some tech and latin flavors.
Now, they are back to the Grooveland Camp with the City lite EP, a fantastic jazz house track featuring a great instrumentation and arrangement that comes in two flavors.
The Calypsoul Mix is driven by sweet percussion and a smooth groove that make this version the choice for late nite and early morning play, while the NY Groove is based on a stompin’ groove and features additional keys, creating a more powerful

John Crockett – Deep House Standards Vol. 4 [Twirlspace]

preview

John Crockett releases Volume 4 of the Deep House Standards series.

The Mother Lode grooves surprisingly hard for a track with such haunting, layered beauty. Grinding underground floor-filler meets open, breezy acoustic fugue to form a stunning composition. Deep Rescue offers more provoking contrast with a pulsing, hard electro groove, punctuated by flowing acoustic piano, churning guitar riffs and a flawless, orchestral string arrangement. The Buddha Bless Groove Mix of Falling Gracefully Forward, is an aural back rub. This soothing gem oozes ethereal pads while hypnotizing with rolling live bass grooves and dope live keyboard solos. Finally, Ohms for the Holidays introduces layer after interesting layer in a hard-bodied, Deep House floor-filler for every ‘ twirl space’.

Tommy Bones – Raw Basics EP (Incl. DJ Spinna Remix) [Wonderwax]

preview

Wonder Wax presents it’s first artist release with Tommy Bones: The Raw Basics E.P. and includes a DJ Spinna Remix.

Three deep tracks reminiscent of the past with future appeal!

Producer Notes:

Back To Stabs- I went back to the raw on this one… With heavy kicks and swinging drums, this track was created using 90 percent analog outboard gear. All the samples were chopped up and arranged in Logic Studio by moving the audio objects around like pieces to a puzzle. Finally everything fit, add the grimy stabs and solo… and we go back… Back To Stabs.

Revolution- Watching a needle in the groove of a record can be hypnotizing… That was the whole feeling behind this one… Sometimes the needle has a bit of a sway or wobble on every full turn. I tried to translate this into the computer, so if you play it as .wav or mp3 you would still have that feel. Halfway through it goes in reverse… again it’s all about Revolution.

Doobie J & Rob Capewell feat. Ashley Stone – Black Heels (Inc Mojito, Bassi, King Of Rhodes & Twisted Soul Collective Mixes) [Mutated Music]

preview

HUGE soulful house for Mutated Music with remixes from Mojito, Bassi, King Of Rhodes & Twisted Soul Collective.

Hot on the heels of the MM011 (Flyingmice ft Nworks ‘Nightflight’), we present to you MM012 from top producers Doobie J & Rob Capewell with their brand new song ‘Black Heels’ featuring Ashley Stone on vocals. Doobie J’s love for house music began sometime around the mid-90’s when he brought his first pair of decks in ’96 and started throwing legendary house party’s.
In 1999 Jason (Doobie J) suffered a spinal cord injury and had to hang his headphones up, never expecting to DJ again but he couldn’t give up his passion for house so put all his energy into production and as a result Citrus Sound was born. In 2004 he returned to DJing via mp3 decks, playing in and around London for promoters such as Baldeelox, SO?, SSRadio and Ultrafunk, and now hosts a weekly radio show on www.ssradiouk.com alongside Defected Records, MN2S and DJ Disciple. In September 2006, he graduated from the Academy of Contemporary Music with a degree in music production and built the Citrus Sound collective of musicians & producers whom are dedicated to the housemusic sound. Doobie J has had releases on Daddyfunk records (Diana Waite, Yvonne Yanney), Miss Moneypennys Music, Music Vision & Badlebox records..

Black Heels is a wonderfully crafted soulful house cut, oozing quality, the original vocal mix has some cool beats, percussion, rhodes, bass, Guitar and a superb vocal by Ashley. On remix duites we have a fantastic array of talent, Twisted Soul collective take the track deeper and aim it straight at the dancefloor with some great synth work. Mojito goes for a tougher soulful workout whilst King of Rhodes & Bassi mellow out the proceedings a little… Nice! Get those girls to click and move those heels on the dancefloor with this soulful corker!

Wil Milton & Rodney Carter – Let Her Know [Blak Ink]

A Lover’s Dance Song, With Lyrics Written From Heart

Wil Milton and Rodney Carter have done it again with the ultra-smooth “Let Her Know” off the Blakink imprint. This smash serves as a musical and lyrical guide into bringing romance back into a relationship. The laid-back chord structure perfectly sets the tone for the syncopated verse flow of this masterpiece. A mournful flute and lush string section deftly underscore the soulful yet anthemic chorus arrangement. This thought-provoking track creates a dynamic ebb-and-flow and reaches a crescendo as the unmistakable electric guitar comes to life. As usual, Milton and Carter collaborate brilliantly and strongly urge you to “Let Her Know”
