Ziggy Funk Feat. Taliwa – Everyday (Yass Mixes) [Foliage Records] {promo}

release date: Mar/07/2011

Following their most successful year to date – Foliage Records return with their long-awaited debut release of 2011. Kick-starting the year with the release of Everyday, the widely anticipated release is a striking juxtaposition of the raw and immaculate emerging London talent from Ziggy Funk and Taliwa, remixed by the Parisian house connoisseur DJ Yass.

The Original of Everyday, to be released later in the year, is a stunning culmination of Ziggy Funk’s profound compositional dexterity, underpinned by the unrefined, sensual and soulful dulcet tones of Taliwa. An exploration throughout the cavernous depths of pure house, Everyday is an undeniable stepping stone in the flourishing career of these up-and-coming talents.

“It’s always a pleasure to work with Taliwa. With ‘Everyday’ it came out very naturally and we both wanted the song to stand out more so for the lyrics than the beat. So as I produced the song I moulded it to the story of the lyrics to create this piece. The ideas flowed so naturally.” Ziggy Funk

“I hope the listener finds this to be a therapeutic song as it has helped me through a difficult time. People can use this as a tool to work through any negative energy and realise there is light at the end of the tunnel.” Taliwa

Offering an exclusive and exceptional interpretation of Everyday, DJ Yass’ contribution to the release provides and irrefutable reinforcement of its technical prowess. A culmination of his many decades of highly revered experience DJ Yass indulges us in a decadent and highly unique remix, touching upon his rarely encompassed melodic and harmonious aptitude. A truly humbling reconstruction, his remix of Everyday is underlined through its poignant delivery; powerful, revolutionary and inspiring.

“DJ Yass is a favourite producer of mine and I had no issue with him taking on the remix. He’s [done] a great job of doing the song justice.” Ziggy Funk

An unquestionably powerful step forward, Foliage Records continues to provide an imaginative platform, showcasing musicians and artists without limits, boundaries or conformity.
