As summer fast approaches Tribe turn up the heat and welcome a new face to the stable, Joey Silvero AKA Distant People with his debut release on the label. Sister Pearl, is Joey’s latest creation, a new project featuring the unmistakable vocal talents of London singer song-writer Tasita D’Mour from Reel People and Copyright fame who have come together for Tribe to give us a lovely piece of afro-house perfect for those late hazy nights! Joey is another rising production and DJ talent in the soulful house scene. After running his own record shop in Sheffield for three years, he quickly made the transition from dj to producer within a year and scoped his first major release ‘Just Sing’ on Foliage Records, which was included on the Defected Miami compilation 2009. Joey has an exciting future ahead and is currently working on more collaborations with Tasita and another singer, Patrick Chappell with releases dropping later this year on Large Records and Soul Channel Music. Tasita D’Mour first made her name working with the Copyright duo, Sam Holt and Gavin Mills back in 2004 with a track called ‘Release Yourself’. The track blew up that summer and before she knew it, she was being asked by Oli Lazarus to work with him and become one of the lead singers in his nu-soul band, Reel People. Tasita had three successful years in the band playing the world over. Currently Tasita can be found performing as lead singer for the talented Mr Max Sedgley, who has been busy touring Europe promoting his album “From the Roots to the Shoots”. Heavy beats and tight production from Joey are joined to create an Afro house workout that will cause many a dance floor in Ibiza to explode this summer. Tasita’s rhymic chanting vocals cuner up images of the Masters of Work classic ‘Work’ and will certainly get lots of plays out in the sunshine. Also featured in the package are some delightful afro-electronic remixes from France’s main man of moment, Manoo. His interpretations take the original in a totally different direction and are already a favourite with Ian Friday, Franck Roger, Patrick Wlson and Carlos Mena. Some reactions from those in know.. Ian Friday (Tea Party Music) – The record is built for my sets at Libation. Deep, driving and dope. Manoo smashes this tune. Tribe does it again. Carlos Mena (Ocha/Yoruba Records) – Loving the Manoo Dub, will be banging this all summer. Marlon D (Undeground Collective) – slaming will be charting . Love the main mix and manoos mix is great too Phil Asher (restless soul, Inspiration Information) – Loving it, Manoo’s Mixes are Deep & Lovely, Tasita Sounds Awesome! Another Hitter for The Tribe Team. 🙂 Master Kev (Underground Collective, NYC) – Manoo’s remixes are sick! Full support! This is going to rock floors all summer Abicah Soul (Chicago) – This Sister Pearl is a beast on the floor! As soon as i played it great response.. Manoo mix is massive!! Jamie Thinnes (Seasons Recordings) – another beautiful and timeless release that is and will be played in all my upcoming sets! Patrick Wilson (Nu-Life/Ricanstruction) – The Manoo remixes are fire!!!
